Empower Your Leadership

ABCNJ invites you to our annual Church Officer and Leaders (COAL) training event as we PREPARE  our hearts for ministry, STRENGTHEN our passion for Kingdom work and recommit ourselves to SERVE locally and globally in Jesus' name! All participants will have the opportunity to gather for a time of rich teaching, networking and worship.

COAL 2017 will be held in two different locations and on two different dates: Saturday, March 4 at the Van Riper Ellis Broad Baptist Church in Fair Lawn, NJ and Saturday, March 11 at the First Baptist Church of Hightstown, NJ

We have two excellent plenary speakers who will begin each morning with an inspiring and challenging message: The Rev. Dr. Brianna Parker, Founding Curator of the Black Millennial Cafe and Pastor of Assimilation at Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and Mr. Paul Msiza, President of the Baptiast World Alliance.

All participants will have the opportunity to select from a variety of training foci to empower their leadership journey. These training foci are led by our excellent ABCNJ leaders and pastors. In addition, our ABCNJ Academy will offer a two hour pastor/clergy track in each location. Clergy and pastors who sign up and attend this track will receive ABCNJ Academy credit toward their Certificate of Excellence in Ministry, a partnership we have with Palmer Seminary. On March 4th, pastors/clergy will be guided by Dr. Brianna Parker who will focus on "Millennials and the Church: How Do We Get Millennials to Try God with Us?" On March 11th the focus will be on "Jesus Christ-the Door" where Mr. Paul Msiza will guide a discussion of how to emphasize issues of justice without abandoning preaching the gospel of conversion.

We encourage you to use this link to read the descriptions for each of the training foci and get to know your plenary speakers and training foci leaders. Then go ahead and register! A special rate of $35 is being offered when you register by February 25th. COAL 2017 promises to prepare and strengthen you so that you can serve in healthy and faithful ways in your churches, communities and around the world.
