FBC Allentown Exceeds it’s $10,000 Cedars of Lebanon Pledge

Rev. Leslie Martin and Mr. Don Smith - partners in working for Camp Lebanon's future ministry.

First Baptist Church of Allentown, New Jersey, has exceeded it’s pledge of $10,000 in just four years with proceeds from our Souper Saturday Event at the end of February. Our original pledge was to raise $10,000 between 2014 and 2020. After just four of those seven years our donation to Cedars of Lebanon is now $12,100.69! Not only have we fulfilled our pledge, we've exceeded it!

We have so much for which to be thankful to God. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our Lord by supporting Baptist Camp Lebanon so it may continue its work. We're thankful for the selfless Christian workers who organize and run Souper Saturday each year to make it such a success. We're grateful for the delicious specialty soups, donated by our congregation and friends, without which we'd not have an event. We're thankful for the businesses and individuals of Allentown which generously donated gifts and gift cards to be auctioned off in our tricky tray auction. We are thankful to the crafters and vendors who gave donations and brought their wares to Souper Saturday.

Most of all, we're filled with gratitude for all the people who came to participate in, and enjoy the atmosphere of, Souper Saturday. It was great to see people from across ABCNJ, as well as from around the Allentown area, gather to support such a great cause.

Our little church was hesitant to make a large pledge, and some doubted our ability to raise $10,000. But in the end we made the decision to go forward, praying to the Lord to show us the way. By God’s grace, we have succeeded!

If your little church is considering a large pledge to Cedars of Lebanon, before you say no, remember all things are possible with God. If God is with us, who can be against us? We encourage all faithful servants of the Lord to step out boldly. We did it, you can too.
