It is with the mixed emotions of sadness, affection, respect, deep gratitude and well-wishes that we announce the retirement of Mrs. Linda E. Porter, ABCNJ’s Accountant and Region Office Coordinator.  For the past two years Linda has been sharing with us about her desire to retire, and the time has come.

Linda has been an esteemed team member of ABCNJ for 39 years! Linda is a walking encyclopedia of ABCNJ as her years of service spanned three different Executive Ministers: Rev. Dr. George D. Younger, Rev. Dr. A. Roy Medley and most recently with Rev. Dr. Lee B. Spitzer. She was also instrumental in the region’s office move from East Orange to Trenton in 1996.

Throughout her 39 years with ABCNJ, Linda has demonstrated the joy of the Lord in her service and a passion for the work in God’s Kingdom. She has been a friend to all with her thoughtfulness and quiet encouragement.

Linda’s contribution to our overall ministry and day to day office management have provided us with an efficient and productive office. Her efforts to help us meet deadlines have demonstrated a commitment to excellence that we have come to depend upon. She has kept us on track and monitored our budget. Her incredible competence, her knowledge of the intricacies of ABCNJ’s finance, her attention to details and management skills have been invaluable. Her unconditional dedication, grace, congeniality, hard work and diligence have greatly benefited our region.

During our upcoming Annual Session we will have the opportunity to extend our prayers, well-wishes and gratitude to Linda who will conclude her work at the end of September 2017. We will miss her greatly! While Linda’s hard work and joyfulness will be missed, we rejoice with her as she looks forward to her new journey.

In preparation for her well-earned retirement, ABCNJ is seeking a full-time Region Accountant to maintain an effective system of accounting and budget control over the Region’s fiscal assets. The job description will be mailed out to our regional family today and will be posted on this website in a couple of days. This full-time position reports to the Executive Minister. The search for an ABCNJ Region Accountant will continue until a suitable candidate is found.
