Camp Lebanon Breaks Ground for Harker Building

After almost 15 years of complex and lengthy probate procedures, construction plans and permit applications going through the excruciatingly slow and ponderous - oftentimes frustrating - process of dealing with the vagaries of Township and County politics, the Harker Legacy fund has now arrived at the construction phase! The dream of building the Harker Retreat Center has become a reality and soon a modern, 7- room facility will rise on the Camp Lebanon campus. This building is specifically designed for staff and church leadership retreats. This will definitely increase Camp Lebanon's conferencing income as this service becomes available.

To commemorate this milestone, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the Camp Lebanon campus on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 4:30 PM, led by camp director Donald Smith and the ABCNJ Camp and Conferencing Committee. The monthly ABCNJ ministry team meeting will be held in Camp Lebanon that day so that the ABCNJ region staff can also participate. Our special guest will be former ABCNJ executive minister and now ABCUSA general secretary, Dr. Lee B. Spitzer, who was instrumental in moving along the Harker Legacy during his tenure as ABCNJ executive minister.

The entire ABCNJ Regional Council has also been invited. If you can make it up to Camp Lebanon that day and time, you are most welcome to join the ceremony!
