Back by popular demand! A practical course in chaplaincy skills for community contexts where a ministry of nonsectarian spiritual care is needed. Learn how to offer a ministry of presence that honors ecumenical and interfaith engagement, demonstrates cultural humility, practices refined listening skills, and responds to trauma with sensitivity and accountability.

The Center for Career Development & Ministry (CCDM) is offering an online workshop beginning September 22 (Five Wednesdays, 1 - 2:30).
In August, a cohort of pastoral leaders will begin to meet online, with Alan Roxburgh serving as coach to participants implementing the Leading Out of COVID model with their congregations. All meetings will be held for 90 minutes on Thursdays at 1 p.m. EDT, Aug. 19, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 18, Dec. 9 and Jan. 13.
As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, our churches and leaders are faced with questions about the future of our local congregations. As part of the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey Summer Conversation series, this webinar will discuss how we can talk about God’s abundance within our churches, especially when congregants are focused on the lack of resources. The Bible shares stories about God’s abundance, yet we often find ourselves talking about our resources, from our communities to our ministries, in terms of scarcity.
On the last Tuesday of the summer months, you are invited to join us for summer conversations, where we will hear about various topics and then have a group discussion to gather ideas from other ABCNJ colleagues

The Pitman Council of Churches is hosting this event with speaker, author, and professor Drew G.I. Hart. His talk is entitled "Putting On Our Blue Jeans!" and will focus on getting involved in the work of God's justice, love, and deliverance in this world. There will be a time of Q&A following his talk. You can learn the signifcance of blue jeans from Drew in his second book or by showing up and learning from him in person.
