Hope Rises in Somers Point

The Morales family are hard workers who lived along the Bay Avenue section of Somers Point. Then along came Hurricane Sandy who swept them from their modest home. Having a child who is physically challenged made the forced exit even more painful. Area resident, restauranteur and philanthropist, Geoff Hieb, gathered his resources and reached out to other caring people to help the family rebuild. Geoff, whose restaurant is situated down Bay Avenue from the Morales home, caught the breeze of care that flows from Seaview Baptist Church. Seaview has a mission to extravagantly bless people with the love of God and that is just what is happening. American Baptist Churches of New Jersey, which has done extensive work in rebuilding after the storm, joined in the effort. Almost two years after the storm, as a new home is taking shape on Bay Avenue, hope is rising.
