Narrative Worship: Sidebar Stories

Rev. Dr. Ron King is an ABC ordained pastor who was on staff when Rev. Bob Santilli was pastor at First Baptist Church Mt. Holly, NJ. Ron founded a 501c3 storytelling organization, Sidebar Stories, and is offering two programs on April 22, 2022.

First is a full-day workshop, Narrative Worship. The workshop is sponsored by a Lilly Endowment grant through the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, making it free for the first 50 participants to register. The interactive workshop will focus on developing a simple, impactful, and memorable narrative for public worship or individual conversation. We draw upon biblical and biological research to assist leaders in constructing their narrative witness and building a culture of storytelling in their congregation. On the evening of April 22, Sidebar Stories is offering a professional storytelling performance, No Graven Image, at the FringeArts Theater in Philadelphia. Also sponsored by the Lilly Endowment grant, tickets are available on a donation basis. Philadelphia actor Tony Lawton retells the stories of four men who struggle through four stages of faith development. A talkback session is offered after the performance.
