ABCNJ Congregations Awarded Matthew 25 Grant
We are excited to share that five of our ABCNJ congregations have been awarded the Matthew 25 Grant, a grant sponsored by American Baptist Churches USA and the Board of General Ministries and funded by a generous donor. The Matthew 25 Grant is awarded to congregations who help meet the needs of housing, feeding, education and health to the less fortunate. Congratulations to each of you for responding with compassion and expressing love and mercy to the “least of these”. For as you have responded to them you have also responded to Christ! “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me to something drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…. ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it for me.’” (Matthew 25:35, 40)
